Casa
This week, children in Casa A learned the concept of little, big, and giant by singing a song. They learned how to work with metal insets, the snap button dressing frame, and locks & keys. Children learned about parts of a horse and names of some common insects.
Casa B children talked about the insect world. We looked at pictures and watched videos about butterflies, ladybugs, beetles, bees, grasshoppers, and ants. We learned the 3 parts of an ant – head, thorax and abdomen. All insects have 6 legs and some have wings, like butterflies and ladybugs.
Casa C children learned the life cycle of a ladybug and made a ladybug out of egg cartons. We discussed characteristics of living and non-living things, and sorted different living and non-living things accordingly. Children also talked about the weather in Spring and how the rain can help plants grow.
Pre-Casa
This week pre-Casa continued to learn about gardening and had a chance to plant some real seeds into pots. They enjoyed watering trees outside and looking at new tree buds on branches. Children read a book about spring and gardening. We learned some new songs to sing and dance together.
