Casa B students talked about outdoor safety in preparation for the pumpkin field trip. When we go outside, children in the class should move as a group and must remember to follow the teachers. From the pumpkin farm, we brought back a giant sunflower and noticed it was full of sunflower seeds. We compared sunflower seeds with apple and grape seeds. We also talked about the life cycle of sunflowers and apples.
Casa C children continued learning farm animals and the letter O. Children learned the number formation 3 and counted to 3. We finished a pumpkin craft practicing our pincer grip and hand-eye coordination. On Wednesday, we visited a farm and learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin. Everyone also brought home a pumpkin.
This week, Precasa children learned about vegetables. They had fun planting carrots, eggplants, broccoli, mushrooms, and corn in a paper box garden, practicing their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. In crafts, they enjoyed broccoli painting by stamping with a real piece of broccoli. Children were happy to touch, smell and experiment with the pieces of broccoli. They also made a carrot by sticking on small pieces of orange paper and their handprints.
