Casa
Casa 1 children continued with the human body theme. This week, we explored the heart, lungs and brain. We learned how to feel our pulse on our bodies and we listened to our heartbeat with a stethoscope. We made a paper bag lung model. We were busy finishing up our other work so that ever thing was done for March Break.
With slightly milder weather this week, Casa 2 children were introduced to our next season – Spring. Children learned the signs of Spring through a story about animals waking up after hibernating from a long cold winter. Very soon, we will start to see insects, bugs, rainbows, and flowers.
Pre-Casa
This week, activities were related to feelings. Children looked at faces on an emotion chart and learn how to express emotions such as happiness, anger, and sadness. We sang along the song “If you’re happy and you know it” to practice that. On the side, children put together some beautiful cherry blossom flowers to help develop their fine motor skills while continuing to learn letters, numbers, and vocabulary.
