We looked forward to Groundhog Day all week. We matched groundhog photos with their shadows. We read a story about Groundhog Day then watched the 2023 Groundhog Day news. Groundhog Phil saw his shadow on Thursday and predicted another 6 weeks of Winter. We learned how shadows are formed and experimented with shining a flashlight on different objects. We learned that light goes in a straight line and whatever blocking the light becomes a shadow.
Pre-Casa
Precasa this week practiced their fine motor skills through playing with Playdough, water coloring, sponge painting, rice in sensory bins, and water transferring activities. They developed control of their finger muscles and eye-hand coordination while having fun!
