Casa
The theme for this week was Winter Sports – Figure skating, Ice hockey, Curling and Snowboarding. We watched videos and talked about the types of equipment and clothes they need for each sport. We also learned about hot and cold. We know our skin can feel hot and cold. When we wear mittens in the winter, they keep our hands away from the cold.
Pre-Casa
On Monday, Pre-casa children joined Casa in the gym to celebrate Chinese New Year. We enjoyed watching lion dance and learned about some traditional food used during the festivity. . Children had fun transforming paint marks into silly dragons by adding googly eyes and strings. Children took the next step by colouring paper plates and making them into instruments. They discovered more about the Chinese new year by singing songs and listening to stories about the event.
